Made a new doll for Lora

It was supposed to be a pair of slippers for me, but it soon turned out to become a worm type of thing lol.
So I continued crocheting and eventually it transformed into a doll.

Below are pictures of my progress:

Our garden is finally producing!

So Brad and I started our little garden a few months ago. Brad tried to grow our own vegetables last year, but that does not go that well in a pot.

So this year after we bought our own home we decided to give up a small piece of our yard (our yard is already tiny :( ) to make a little vegetable garden.

We planted:
  • cucumbers
  • tomatoes
  • sweet potatoes
  • squash
  • peppers
  • zucchini
  • strawberries
  • and something I am probably forgetting ..

Anyways, today I had the chance to finally harvest some of it, well only a few items, mostly tomatoes.
I was told I have to take them inside as soon as they are starting to turn "yellow-ish/ pink"

So the tomatoes are on top of the fridge right now. And the zucchini is chopped up and in a freezer bag in the freezer :)

Owl pouch for camera or phone

I seen this on Etsy and I thought it was so cute, so I had a go at it.
I made a small pouch to hold my camera or phone. Stay tuned for more crochet things in this theme in the future.

I am in love !

Lunch at the Park with CPM

Today I decided to crawl out of my shell and go meet a few mommies from CPM.
I have been a member on this website for 2 months now, but never had the chance to go and meet anyone.

The weather outside was gorgeous and I did not want to sit inside all day.

I dressed me and Lora and off we went.

GAH, it took me like 45 minutes to find this park. I must have driven by it like 6 times before I figured out where to go.
When I finally arrived, the ladies took off walking without me of course and I was a bit bummed. I thought I'd never get to meet anyone. I decided to go sit at the playground for a few minutes. If they'd show up that would be great, if not, well that was bad luck on my part.

As soon as I crossed the parking lot I seen Brandy (as I later learned) walk by. She went to the car to grab a water bottle and when she came back I asked her if she was a CPM mommy. And she sure was. Minutes later I got to meet Kathy too and we set for a good hour chatting away.

All this chatter made us hungry of course so we got us some lunch. We went to get a sandwich and eat it at the park next to it, as there was live music playing.
The weather was beautiful and the park had a lot of people there enjoying the music.

Lora and I ate our lunch and went back home after that.

Thanks ladies, I had a great afternoon :)

Jewelry box or wipe box?

Today I made my custom wipe box. I got bored looking at the plastic for a while now, so I grabbed some things and started "dressing" it. I got the idea to make it look like a jewelry box.

Here is what I used:

An Empty Wipe Box
A Glue Gun
Old PJ's
Ribbon
Fake Flowers
Charms
Scissor

Let's get started:

I use the glue gun to glue the fabric to the box. It's pretty simple and when it gets messy, I can easily wipe the glue away and start over.

I make sure that the fabric "sticks" to the box, before I glue another side.
After I am done with the fabric on the box and the lid, I glue the ribbon on the edges of the box.

Once I am done with that, I use (but that is a personal taste) some "fuzzy ribbon" like a boa, and put this around the edge of the lid.

I then strip a yellow and white flower and combine them to ONE flower. I use some charms to create my daughters name "Lora" and some shiny charms to make it look like a "jewelry box".

I will grab a new pack of wipes, cut it open and put them in the box.

And that is it! Now I have a "fancy" diaper wipe box!
